Description

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to a local church and earn community service hours while helping care for the church and its facilities.

Service projects may include outdoor tasks such as pulling weeds, spreading mulch, trimming bushes and small trees, picking up trash, and completing general cleanup and maintenance of the church grounds. Students may also assist with indoor projects, including painting walls, moving furniture, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning carpets, and completing other general cleaning or organizational tasks as needed.

Students should be prepared to work as part of a team, follow directions, and assist wherever needed. The specific tasks will depend on the needs of the church at the time of the visit.

**What to Wear:** Students should wear comfortable clothing that they do not mind getting dirty or stained. Closed-toe shoes, such as tennis shoes or work shoes, are required. Students should not wear sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, or other open-toed footwear. Because some work may take place outdoors, students should dress appropriately for the weather and may want to bring a jacket or other layers if needed
