In this hands-on lesson, high school juniors and seniors will learn the fundamentals of cursive handwriting and apply those skills to create a personalized cursive signature. Students will explore the historical and practical importance of cursive writing, including its role in personal identity, professional communication, and legal documentation. Through guided practice, they will review cursive letter formation, connecting strokes, spacing, and flow.
Students will then analyze examples of signatures to understand style, readability, and individuality. Using these insights, they will design and refine their own unique cursive signature that reflects their personality while maintaining legibility and consistency. By the end of the lesson, students will produce a polished signature and demonstrate improved cursive writing fluency.
