Join us for a behind-the-scenes experience at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. We will receive a guided tour inside the gates at Churchill Downs and have access to the Kentucky Derby Museum. We will also receive an overview of the careers involved in maintaining and operating the facility and preparing for the Kentucky Derby.
7:20am - Bus leaves from DRL (Students must have their own transportation to/from DRL to attend this trip)
9:45am - Arrival at Churchill Downs
10:05am - Derby 101 Education/Career overview
11:00am - Walking tour of Churchill Downs
11:30am - Self-exploration of Kentucky Derby Museum
12:30pm - Lunch
1:15pm - Depart for school
3:45pm - Arrival at DRL (Students must have their own transportation to/from DRL to attend this trip)
Cost: This event is provided free of charge for all students in attendance.
Lunch: Boxed lunches will be provided for all students in attendance.
Health: Students are required to comply with any health regulations put in place by the host organization. Masks will be provided if necessary.
Weather: Students should dress appropriately for the forecasted weather. We will be outside for extended periods of the day, including lunch (weather permitting).
